No. 14 Michigan leads Wisconsin 20-10 after three quarters in Madison, and if the Badgers are going to come back and win the game, they’ll have to do so shorthanded. Starting quarterback Graham Mertz took a shot to his left side on a sack early in the third quarter and was forced to leave the game. He was last seen going to the locker room, and backup Chase Wolf has since replaced him.
Further complicating matters for the Badgers offense is tight end Jake Ferguson being on the sideline without pads, meaning his day is done as well. So the Badgers are down 10 points to start the final quarter without their starting QB and their top tight end.
As for Michigan, while it holds the lead, its offense has not been spectacular today. The Wolverines have been rotating Cade McNamara and J.J. McCarthy in at QB in the second half in hopes of finding a spark.
